Red VCSELs are generally more sensitive to elevated temperature than 850nm VCSELs. However, with care in the electrical and thermal design of the devices, significant progress has been made in improving the output power, the temperature range of operation, the modulation speed and the operation lifetime of red VCSELs.
This product has overcome the problems of short wavelength VCSELs and outperforms the traditional ones at 850nm.
